who we are

Sunshine State Safety Alliance is a coalition backed by Florida communities, organizations, law enforcement advocates, and local leaders united by a shared belief: our neighborhoods deserve to be safe, and our communities deserve a voice in how that safety is achieved.

We came together because we saw a gap — between the tools that help keep Florida families safe and the public understanding of how those tools actually work.

Too often, effective, proven public safety solutions get caught in confusion or misinformation before communities ever get the chance to see the results for themselves.

We're here to close that gap.

To unite Florida communities, crime victims, and public safety advocates in protecting our neighborhoods through sensible, technology-driven law enforcement tools. Sunshine State Safety Alliance empowers local leaders and citizens to defend effective public safety solutions, ensure transparent oversight, and keep Florida families safe.

We support common-sense legislation that keeps LPR technology available for law enforcement while building in the accountability Floridians expect. Clear guardrails will keep this technology focused on what it’s meant to do— solving crimes and protecting Florida families.

Safety is a right, not a privilege

Every Florida family, no matter the zip code, deserves neighborhoods where they feel secure.

Technology, used responsibly, saves lives

Tools like License Plate Readers (LPR) have helped law enforcement recover stolen vehicles, locate missing persons, and solve crimes that might otherwise have gone cold. We believe in supporting these tools while championing the transparency and guardrails that keep them accountable to the communities they serve.

Crime victims deserve a voice.

Too often, policy conversations happen without the people most affected by crime in the room. We make sure victims and survivors are heard.

Local leaders and first responders need backup.

Advocating for public safety at the community level can be an uphill battle. We believe that first responders and the heroes in our communities deserve support.
